September 1973. A group of former Allende´s ministers and authorities are held prisoner and taken to Dawson Island, a seclusion reclusion camp located in the Magellan Strait. Cristián de la Fuente plays a tough army officer in charge of this group of State prisoners. Benjamín Vicuña is Sergio Bitar, a former minister who wrote the book Isla 10 after he was liberated with the help of the UN and Red Cross among others. Chilean director Miguel Littin (two nominations at the Oscars for Best Foreign Motion Picture) based his story on this bestseller, following the path of these men who lived months of seclusion, sadness, and uncertainty at the most southern concentration camp in the world. Here their bonds grew, as did their memories and testimonies of history.

Miguel Littin has led an exceptional life as creator of a filmography full of landmarks in the history of Latin American cinematography. He has been consistently committed to an authentic vision of Chilean characters and issues, using an original, beautiful and immensely appreciated language. The national and international critics have valued his work in several festivals and have nominated him for the Palme d’Or in Cannes and for the Oscar on two occasions. Dawson, Isla 10 has been selected for a number of international film festivals and was nominated for Best Latin American Film at the Spanish Goya awards.
