| Can a teenager understand the world at all? Rich and poor, 14-17 year-old students face a series of difficult situations at their schools. At low and high-class neighborhoods, students were interviewed about their expectations for their fu- ture, family and love. They open their hearts revealing contradictory emotions: prejudice, violence and hope. “I could have a terrible impression about life, if it wasn’t for my passion for the art of living.” Valeria, 16, Manari – Pernambuco. É possível um adolescente compreender o mundo? Estudantes com idades entre 14 e 17 anos, ricos e pobres, enfrentam situações adversas nas escolas que freqüentam. Foram ouvidos alunos de escolas da periferia de São Paulo, do Rio de Janeiro e de Pernambuco, e ainda de um renomado colégio particular de São Paulo. Os estudantes relatam suas expectativas em relação ao futuro, à famí- lia e ao amor e falam sobre preconceito, violência e esperança. O foco é subjetivo, com cada adolescente relatando a sua visão e o seu problema pessoal.
