VLAFF + the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival
Join VLAFF at the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival on Wednesday, January 18 for a free screening of the Mexican film, Norteado. Presented in conjunction with PuSh and SFU Woodward's, this is a pre-show screening prior to a performance of the play, Amarillo. Following Amarillo, VLAFF's Festival Director, Christian Sida-Valenzuela will participate in a post-show talkback on "Interrogating Borders" with Evan Frayne and Juanita Sundberg.

Drawn to the north, a young farmer from Oaxaca in southern Mexico tries repeatedly to cross the border into the United States. Andrés is a gentle soul who has given himself up to his dream. When he is pushed back to Tijuana, he is taken in by two women, Cata and Ela, who are doing their own endless waiting on the line that divides the two countries.
