Pecados de mi Padre tells the story of Pablo Escobar, head of the most prominent Colombian drug cartel. It is narrated by his son, Sebastian Marroquin, who recounts the extraordinary tale of his childhood living with his beloved father, who was also Colombia’s enemy number one. Furthermore, the story includes a narrative of two prominent victims of Escobar: a Court Justice and a politician, told by their sons. Hundreds of people were victimized by Escobar in 1980. The documentary displays Sebastian’s desire to break the cycle of vengeance and assassinations, by means of reconciliation with the descendants of his father’s victims.

 

Pecados de mi padre es la historia de Pablo Escobar, el jefe del más famoso cártel de drogas de Colombia contada por su hijo, Sebastián Marroquin. Sebastián relata la extraordinaria niñez que vivió con el papá que amó, pero que fue conocido como el enemigo número uno de Colombia. Asimismo, cuenta la historia de dos de las más prominentes víctimas de Escobar: el Ministro de Justicia y un político en vías de ser electo presidente, ambas contadas por sus hijos. Fueron cientos las personas que Escobar victimó en 1980. El documental muestra cómo Sebastián trata de romper el ciclo de venganza y asesinatos a través de una búsqueda de reconciliación con los hijos de las víctimas de su padre.

 
 
Nicolas Entel was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1975. He earned a BA in Film Directing from Universidad del Cine and a Master’s in Broadcasting Administration from the University of Boston, USA. As of 2000, he lives between Buenos Aires and New York, where he co-founded Red Creek Productions. He is currently working on the development of his third movie, La Difunta. Pecados de mi Padre won the audience award at the Miami International Film Festival and it played at Sundance.
