The prestigious website IndieWire.com has published a database of 50 film festivals that are worth taking a closer look at. This is a list leans disproportionately to United States film festivals (27 of them). Two film festivals from Canada appeared on the list, both from Toronto: the Toronto International Film Festival and Hot Docs. The eight year old Morelia Film Festival was the only film festival from Latin America to appear on the list.
