"La Teta Asustada" (Golden Bear in Berlin) from Peru, directed by Claudia Llosa and "El Secreto de sus Ojos" by Juan José Campanella, from Argentina, nominated to the Oscar.

For the first time a peruvian film is nominated for best film in the Oscar, from Argentina is the fifth time. This year 65 countries had entries in the awards, 11 were from Latin America.

The other nominated for best film are: Un Prophet from France, Das weisse Band from Germany (Palm D'or at Cannes) and Ajami, from Israel.
