After completing a five-year prison sentence, Jano reunites with his childhood friend, Martin, and the pair enthusiastically plans to pursue their dream of joining their friend, Adolfo, in Chicago and starting a new life. Overcome with guilt, Martin vividly recalls he was responsible for deciding to turn himself in to the police yet continued a life of crime. While planning their trek to Chicago, they meet Pedro Hidalgo, an older artist who numbs his pain with drugs and alcohol, as he relives past dreams of a perfect life in the United States through the young men.

 

 

Después de cumplir una sentencia de cinco años en la cárcel, Jano se reúne con su amigo de la infancia Martín. Ambos planean, entusiasmados, hacer su sueño realidad: reunirse con su

amigo Adolfo en Chicago y empezar una nueva vida. Turbado por la culpa, Martín recuerda cómo él mismo se entregó a la policía aunque aún continúa ligado al crimen. Durante los preparativos del viaje a Chicago, conocen a Pedro Hidalgo, un viejo artista que enmascara su dolor emocional con drogas y alcohol mientras revive su pasado a través de los jóvenes que le acompañan y sueñan con un futuro perfecto en los Estados Unidos.

Andrés Cotler graduated in directing and screenwriting from the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños, in Cuba. He has been a film critic for a number of years and Pasajeros is his first feature film. Pasajeros was screened at the Chicago Latin Festival and at the Cartagena International Film Festival in Colombia.
